Shout ! Factory- SMC Tour

In this session the mentees and mentors had an opportunity to take a guided tour on the Santa Monica College Campus. They visited the SMC athletic department, library, dance department and the different buildings where several classes take place. This was a great opportunity for mentees to ask questions and start exploring new routes for their life.

Shout!- Photography Session 4.20.12

The Mentees and Mentors at Shout! Factory had a chance to learn from a professional photographer about the different techniques involved in photography. They learned about the many creative ways to take and used photos. They also had an opportunity to share their own photos with the rest of the group.

Shout! at Bergamot Station

Looking for a great spot to spend time with your mentee? Then Bergamot Station in Santa Monica is the spot. Recently the mentees and mentors from Shout! Factory had the opportunity to explore the multiple galleries available at Bergamot Station. This is a great spot to sit and eat and spend some quality time with your mentee, walking around the art and photography rooms will make a great one-on–one outing.

Shout Factory! - Haiku

In this session mentors and mentees put in practice the art of a writing a Haiku. Each mentor and mentee wrote a Haiku in their group and shared them with each other.

“To me, Danny was like big brother. A big brother who I can talk to and share my feelings with. I would like to thank you Danny, for being my mentor because you listened to me and of course didn’t judge me. You always gave me advice through out the 2 years we have known each other and I learned to be open with myself and with others. Also, I just feel inspired by you because I like how you get things done. Especially when you direct your short films and at the end of your hard work, you produce an awesome film. As for me, I got inspired to write good lyrics, just like you make your good films. Because of you I became more productive.

Shout! Factory - Trust & Secrets

During this mentoring session at Shout! Factory a space was created to foster trust and openness within the group. The youth had an opportunity to share things they may not have otherwise. The matches also took part in activities such as trust walk and trust fall; both of which required them to trust in another individual or in a group.

It's time for our annual campaign drive! Partner with us to mentor our youth from the threats of gang violence, drugs, and dropping out of school. Everyone who donates will be entered to win two tickets to our benefit concert with Jackson Browne in October.
