Rhino: Family Night

On this session known as Family Night, the families of the mentees had the opportunity to meet their child's mentor. Parents and other relatives of the mentees were not only introduced to the mentors, but were given a brief explanation of what the mentoring program provides their son or daughter. The night ended with a presentation of a slideshow so the parents could literally see what takes in this program.

Paramount - Poetry

During this mentoring session at Paramount, the mentees had the opportunity to listen to some of the great poetry and spoken word that Street Poets has created. Street Poets lead a workshop for the mentees in which the young people could write about anything they have felt or experienced.

Paramount Job Shadow Day

Mentees in our Paramount mentoring program had the opportunity to spend the day on the Paramount lot and learn more about what their mentors do for a living as. They were also exposed to the different career opportunities that are possible post high school.

Shout! at Bergamot Station

Looking for a great spot to spend time with your mentee? Then Bergamot Station in Santa Monica is the spot. Recently the mentees and mentors from Shout! Factory had the opportunity to explore the multiple galleries available at Bergamot Station. This is a great spot to sit and eat and spend some quality time with your mentee, walking around the art and photography rooms will make a great one-on–one outing.

Paramount - Goal Setting

During this weeks mentoring session, the matches in our Paramount mentoring program had the opportunity to set goals for their life. The purpose of this session is to get young people thinking about their futures and providing a space for them to be intentional with their decision making.

WB Group Session

At this session the Mentee and Mentor were given an opportunity to take a look at their new years resolution and how they plan to commit to their goals. Both Mentor and Mentee shared their dreams and future accomplishments with one another and some matches shared to the entire group about what changes they are looking forward to making. Thank you WB for another wonderful Session.

Welcome 2012

As the wheel of life turns and the light returns, we don’t know what is in store for us in this new year.  So, the best that I can do is to be grateful for the gift of today, as each day is a chance for a new beginning.
